IMPORTANT: Due to limitations of the Facebook API, the Agenta Facebook Chat feature is available for use with Facebook Business Pages only. Don’t have a Facebook Business Page? Click HERE to learn how to set up a page.
To activate the Agenta Facebook Chat feature, first log into your Agenta Dashboard and navigate to the Messenger Chat option in the main sidebar nav.
Select Connect to Facebook, and log into your Facebook account as a user that is an admin of the Business Page you would like to use.
Follow the prompts to continue logging in. When prompted, select the pages you would like to use with the Chat feature and select Next.
When prompted, ensure that Receive your email address, Manage your Pages and Send messages from Pages you manage are all selected. Note: Chat features may not work properly if any of these options are deactivated.
You will prompted that Customer Chat has been linked to your Facebook account. Select Ok, and you will be redirected back to the Messenger Chat screen of your Agenta Dashboard.
Lastly, select the Fan Page (Business Page) that you would like to use with Agenta Facebook Chat.
You can now live chat with leads and clients visiting your website!
You can further configure your Chat features in the Display and Customize tabs of the Messenger Chat screen. Our Agenta team will have already optimized these settings, but you may want to adjust the default greeting text in the Customize tab.
